After a while he dashed off, presumably chasing after prey. When he returned about half an hour later he was in preening mode so I presume he had killed and eaten. He left again in a hailstorm and came back this afternoon. He was again very relaxed and mostly preening so he may well have eaten another kill. The perch is very sheltered from the strong easterly wind which may be part of the reason he likes it. The ready supply of small birds may have something to do with it as well!

Sparrowhawk in snow
We had a little more snow today. When the sparrowhawk turned up he looked hungry and was very alert.
