Ladies who lunch

A few more photos from last week's snow.  The blackbirds are usually very possessive of the apples I put out for them, fighting off other blackbirds and other thrushes.  Curiously they are very respectful of starlings, probably because starlings have sharp beaks and can stick up for themselves.  These two ladies were very polite and were happy to share an apple for lunch.

  1. So nice to see good manners at the table. (Perhaps these two polite ladies are already well fed.)

    1. I reckon they are well brought up Florence. It is interesting how all the birds are more likely to fight their own species for food rather than a different one.
