A bird in the hand

... is worth a photo at least.  The young magpies have been all over the garden ever since they fledged, looking for food. This one is cheekier than most and came into the house to ask where the kitchen is.

The pheasant came over to see what all the fuss was about.  Normally it is the other way round as the magpies try to steal his food.

I have had a lot of uninvited visitors in the house over the years.  I can remember robin, blue tit, great tit, wren, great spotted woodpecker, willow warbler, blackbird, and this swallow which was one of two last year.
