Lift off

I find photographing birds in flight quite difficult so I thought I'd practice on this heron taking off.  The photos were taken on a sunny day last month.  I get the impression that most people use higher ISOs and shutter speeds than I do but maintaining the focus is usually my problem.  On this occasion the light was good so I could use an ISO of 400 at 1/1000s and f/9.
