The videos are not really very exciting as all he does is chew peanuts but you can see what a handsome young chap he is. In the third clip he looks very much the teenager.

The fox cub in August
I thought you might like to see how the cub is getting on. He is now nearly full grown and still tends to come to the door on his own. He is very wary and constantly looks over his shoulder for signs of bigger foxes. The photos are frame grabs from the video with an ISO of 12800 so are very soft.

A handsome boy, beautiful coat and brush with no battle scars yet. He looked completely at home in the last video clip and he does chew his food correctly! Nice to watch him grow up.
ReplyDeleteHe is easy to pick out from the others Liz because of his lovely coat. All the foxes chew the peanuts very methodically, unlike the badgers whose technique is more like a vacuum cleaner!
DeleteMust be a dog thing to chew, my Dalmatian always thoroughly chewed her treat from an aunt of mine, which was a single mint imperial!
DeleteAlways a treat to see those beautiful foxes enjoying your hospitality.
ReplyDeleteThey don't seem to get bored with peanuts Florence and the advantage for me is that they sit and eat them. Occasionally I give them some chicken skin or an egg or an (American grey) squirrel and then they grab it and run, in case a bigger fox tries to steal it.
