He's back

The sparrowhawk I posted three weeks ago stopped by for another photoshoot in my kitchen garden.  It is the first time since then that I have seen him sitting within range of the camera.  Like last time, he sat on the post by the bird feeder, hoping to ambush an incoming bird, although this time he was facing the other way.  He was on high alert watching the small birds, hoping one would come within range.

Also like last time, he also spent some time preening, stretching and grooming.

I don't know how long he was there before I spotted him but he sat for 45 minutes before flying off in pursuit of prey.  As far as I could see he didn't catch anything this time.

  1. Magnificent Chris. I will have to practice his party trick of rotating his head through 180 degrees... David
