Daytime playtime

With longer days and shorter nights the badgers are out much more in daylight.  It is hard to guess which entrance they will use so the cubs only appear on the cameras from time to time.  This was almost four weeks after they first appeared above ground and they are now about 12 weeks old and are probably more or less weaned.  These two short videos were recorded on the same day.  The first one was just after sunrise.  I don't know if they had been out all night but I expect mother was hoping they would burn off a bit of energy so they would sleep properly in the day.  The lens is slightly misted up in the early morning.

The second video was early evening.  Much the same with mother having a scratch and the cubs wanting to play. They don't stick to her quite as much as before but still like to stay close by.
