Common carder bee

Common carders (Bombus pascuorum) are still flying, but not for much longer.  The queens are already hibernating and the workers and males are dying off.  This is a male resting on my glove in the greenhouse.  He perked up with the warmth and a drink of sugar but won't be around for long.
